Michael Jordan - Keep The Suit And Tie On

The story in every corner of the basketball-media world this weekend was about the possible return to the NBA of one Michael Jeffrey Jordan.
I really hope this is nothing more than another example of the media blowing up small facts into huge sensational front-page stories.

I remember how sad I was watching Michael Jordan play in a Washington Wizards uni.
He was not the same Jordan I saw leading the Bulls to championships.
He showed he still had game.
But, the Washington Wizards' Michael Jordan of the new millennium was not the Michael "Air" Jordan of the 90's.
Watching Jordan play in Washington was like hearing that new singer in Journey sing the old songs.
Sure, it sounds like Steve Perry singing, but something just ain't right.

As yet, there's been no word of Jordan's plans from Jordan himself.
Until we hear something from Jordan, I've got to believe his practicing with the team last week was nothing more than an attempt to coach some of the younger Bobcat players (Lord knows they need it).

Jordan is 48 years old.
And, though Jordan is not your typical athlete, an 82-game NBA season is a young man's game.
Michael looked very unJordan-like averaging 20 points while playing his final year with the Wizards...and that was almost TEN years ago.
Should he return, he would not perform even close to that level no matter what training regiment he were to subscribe to.
If Jordan looked bad averaging 20 for the Wizards, how would he look now?

Michael Jordan is the best player the sport has ever had.
No one has been or will ever be better than the Jordan that played for the Bulls...PERIOD.
Why tarnish the Jordan legacy?
Jordan fans are glad his legacy survived the Washington Wizards fiasco.
His legacy, and his fans, will not be so lucky should he come back to play again.

Do us a favor Michael: Keep the suit and tie on while we still have our memories.

If you don't know...you better ask somebody, FOO!

BC for life Foo!
